NEET
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the primary entrance examination in India for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs offered by various government and private medical colleges across the country. NEET replaced several state and national level medical entrance exams in 2013 to streamline the admission process and ensure fairness and transparency in the selection of candidates for medical courses.
Administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET evaluates students' proficiency in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (which includes Botany and Zoology). The examination pattern consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) where students must select the correct answer from a set of options within a specified time frame.
NEET is a highly competitive examination, with millions of students appearing for a limited number of seats in medical and dental colleges. Admission to prestigious institutions like the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), along with various government and private medical colleges, is determined based on NEET scores.
